Dr Colin Lam graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the National University of Singapore. He strives to provide a stress-free and comfortable experience during each dental visit for his patients and hopes that he can play a small part to change the general negative perception of dental treatment.
He started his journey in National Health Group Polyclinics (NHGP) where he was assigned to multiple clinics over 2 years. Dr Lam also served in the Dental Department of Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, where he did multi-disciplinary work (including Oral Surgery, Prosthodontics and Endodontics) and handled medically complex cases, and managed dental phobic patients. He was also in charge of the dental team, which was redeployed to the Emergency Department at the start of the Covid19 pandemic in February 2020, to do frontline medical work including Covid Swabs for 4months.
Dr Lam is currently holding an appointment in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) as a reservist Dental Officer under 2nd Combat Support Hospital. He was also the only few dentists who obtained Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification. Since 2017, he is a member of the Singapore Dental Association (SDA) and College of General Dental Practitioners (CGDP) and is currently volunteering under 3 different committees: Welfare, Continual Professional Education and Ethics.
Over the past few years, Dr Lam also volunteered his time at local health screenings as well as overseas mission trips, as a way to contribute back to society. Besides spending time on upgrading his dental skills and knowledge, Dr Colin also likes to go for runs in the evening, or gym sessions with his friends. He will also free up some time to be a couch potato and catch up with the latest Korean dramas or computer games.
