Most of us are unlikely to have pearly white teeth, due to our diet and lifestyle habits. A person’s teeth are more likely to be stained or discoloured if he or she smokes, or lacks proper oral hygiene routine. Teeth whitening helps to remove stain and discolouration, which will vastly improve the looks of your teeth.

We offer 2 kinds of whitening treatment—Chair-side Whitening and Take-Home Dental Whitening.

What is chair-side whitening and how is it done?
With the help of high concentrations of a whitening agent under carefully monitored conditions in the dental office, visible effects can usually be observed after 1 hour of treatment.

A cheek retractor will first be inserted into your mouth, revealing the teeth in your “esthetic zone”. This refers to teeth that can be seen when you smile. Before applying the whitening gel to the esthetic zone, a protective resin will also be applied onto your gum tissue to prevent the whitening gel from contacting and irritating the gums.

What is take-home dental whitening and how is it done?
Home whitening kits contain lower concentrations of the whitening agent.  Upon examination, your dentist will give you a custom-made tray to hold the whitening cream against your teeth. You will have to wear the tray with the whitening gel for one to four hours a day, for about one to two weeks.
