CHAS dental subsidies in Singapore
The Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) subsidises routine dental treatment for Singapore citizens at participating private clinics. Every Advanced Dental clinic is CHAS-accredited, so you can use your CHAS Orange, CHAS Blue, Merdeka Generation or Pioneer Generation card at any of our locations across Singapore — bring your card or NRIC, and the subsidy is deducted from your bill on the spot.
How CHAS works at the dentist
CHAS pays a fixed subsidy for each eligible dental treatment, and the amount depends on your card tier. Subsidy amounts increase across the tiers, from CHAS Orange through CHAS Blue to Merdeka Generation and Pioneer Generation cardholders. You pay the clinic fee minus the subsidy — there are no claim forms and no reimbursement to wait for, because the clinic deducts the subsidy from your bill before you pay.
Each treatment also carries a per-year limit on the number of subsidised claims — for example, up to 2 subsidised scaling visits and up to 6 subsidised fillings per calendar year. The full schedule, including every limit, is set out in the tables below. Visits beyond the limit are still welcome; they are simply charged at the standard clinic fee.
What CHAS covers at our clinics
CHAS dental subsidies apply to routine and restorative treatment. Each treatment below links to its own page, where you will find fees, what to expect during the visit and answers to common questions.
- Check-ups, scaling and polishing — Consultation, scaling, polishing, fluoride and X-rays.
- Fillings — Simple and complex fillings, up to 6 subsidised per year.
- Extractions — Anterior and posterior teeth, up to 4 subsidised per year.
- Crowns and bridges — Permanent crowns and re-cementation of crowns or bridges.
- Root canal treatment — Anterior, premolar and molar teeth.
- Dentures — Complete and partial dentures, plus relines and repairs.
CHAS does not subsidise cosmetic treatment such as whitening or veneers, braces, or dental implants. If you are considering implant surgery or surgical wisdom tooth removal, MediSave may apply instead.

CHAS frequently asked questions
Do all Advanced Dental clinics accept CHAS?
Yes. Every Advanced Dental clinic is CHAS-accredited, so you can use your CHAS, Merdeka Generation or Pioneer Generation card at any of our locations across Singapore. There is no need to nominate a clinic in advance — visit whichever location suits you.
What do I need to bring to use my CHAS subsidy?
Bring your NRIC and your CHAS, Merdeka Generation or Pioneer Generation card. Our reception team verifies your eligibility in the CHAS system when you register, and the subsidy is applied to your bill on the spot.
Do I need a referral to see a dentist under CHAS?
No referral is needed. Book online, call, or walk in to any of our clinics, and let the reception team know you would like to use CHAS when you register.
How is the CHAS subsidy applied to my bill?
The subsidy is deducted directly from your bill at the clinic — you pay the balance after the subsidy. There are no claim forms to submit and no reimbursement to wait for. If the treatment fee is lower than the subsidy amount, the subsidy covers the fee in full; the difference is not paid out in cash.
Does CHAS cover braces, whitening or dental implants?
No. CHAS dental subsidies apply to the treatments in the published schedule, such as check-ups, fillings, extractions, crowns, root canal treatment and dentures. Cosmetic treatment, braces and implants are not subsidised under CHAS, although dental implant surgery may be claimable under MediSave.
Can I combine CHAS with MediSave?
They apply to different types of treatment. CHAS subsidises routine dental care, while MediSave applies to surgical procedures such as implant placement and surgical wisdom tooth removal. Where a treatment plan includes both, each scheme is applied to the part it covers. Patients aged 60 and above can also use Flexi-MediSave of up to $400 a year, which extends to permanent crowns and root canal treatment at CHAS clinics from mid-2026.
Does the CHAS Green card include dental subsidies?
No. CHAS Green provides subsidies for the management of chronic medical conditions at participating GP clinics and does not include dental treatment. Dental subsidies are available to CHAS Orange, CHAS Blue, Merdeka Generation and Pioneer Generation cardholders.
How do I check my CHAS tier or my remaining subsidised visits?
Your card shows your tier. Our reception team can check your remaining subsidy balance in the CHAS system when you register for your visit. You can also check your household eligibility or apply for a card at chas.sg.
